Some of the best memories and time spent together as a sisterhood is at our social events. Furman Kappa hosts four different and unique events every year. All events are hosted off campus and have Coach buses to transport sisters safely and in style. Fun event themes change every year and are never repeated.
The first event of the school year, usually hosted in September, is an informal event. The theme is casual and fun; past themes include Sports, Neon Rave, When I Grow Up, and American. Past venues include Brazwell's Pub and Flour Field.
Semi is hosted in late November or early December, always the last fun event before Finals. The event is formal, and sisters typically wear short or long formal dress. Dinner is served at the venue. Past venues include Green Valley Country Club and Revel.
Crush is usually in mid-to-late February, our first event held after our Bid Day in January. Similar to Rave, it is more casual. Past themes include Kappa Constellations, If We Were A Movie, and Kappa Kabana.
The last event of the school year is also the most formal - sisters and their date dress in black tie. Past venues include The Marriott Downtown, Commerce Club, and The Westin Poinsett.
Other Social Events
Kappa hosts other sisterhood and social events, such as Kappa Kappa Dad cookout, Kappa Karaoke, Apple Picking, Pumpkin Painting and Carving, Galentine's Brunch, Book Club, Bible studies, and mixers with other sororities and fraternities.
