At Furman, we have a deferred recruitment process, meaning you have a chance to find a place for yourself outside Greek life before you decide to go through the recruitment process. Recruitment begins the first weekend in January.
In 2018, the schedule for recruitment is as follows-
- Potential members return: January 3 after 2 pm
- Open House: January 4
- Sisterhood Round: January 5
- Preference Tea: January 6
- Bid Day: January 7
Each round is different and unique. First round is an open house/philanthropy round; every girl going through recruitment will come to a round with us. Each round after that gets smaller and smaller and the time gets a little longer- for more meaningful conversations. The second round is centered around sisterhood. Preference tea is the last round and centers around the uniqueness and love of our specific chapter.
While letters of recommendation and legacy status are valued in Eta Alpha chapter, they are by no means necessary in the recruitment process. If you are sending a letter/letters, click here.
